How to look after YOU during exams!

With exams just around the corner, let’s talk wellbeing. We have been told how to study effectively and how to be prepared for exams, but I don’t think we talk enough about self-care during exams. I know you want to ace your test, but let’s not crush our mental and physical wellbeing in the process.

So, listen up because I am going to give you two tips to get you through this exam period.

Firstly, sleep sleep SLEEP! I cannot stress enough how incredibly important sleep is. Two Professors at MIT did a study in 2019 on the correlation between sleep and test scores with their students, and you guessed it, the students who got more sleep consistently over the semester did much better than those who didn’t.

Ever heard the phrase ‘get a good night’s sleep before the exam’? turns out that it doesn’t matter.

Well, obviously it does… but in terms of your learning, getting good quality sleep during the entire studying period is where the magic happens!

The second thing you need to prioritise is food. That’s right, nutritious food will give your brain the fuel and energy it needs to remember all that information you want to cram in there. So, by all means use this an excuse to go out and treat yourself (your welcome ).

My favourite thing to do is take myself out to a café to study. A new environment and yummy food always help to get my brain going!

More sleep, maybe less coffee???


Go out and smash your exams, but please remember to take care of yourself because you matter more than any exam or grade ever will.
