These bamboo straws are handmade from natural materials without harmful chemicals (no anti-mould agent, dyes or bleach). They are sun-dried or sometimes smoked, which may explain a slightly smokey smell when you first open your kit.

The straws are handmade from farmed two-year-old whole stalks of Schizostachyum bamboo on Hon Mu farm, Thanh Hoa province, Vietnam. Selective harvesting of small bamboo stalks guarantees the continued development of the bamboo plantation and provides income for local workers. 

By choosing bamboo over plastic, you not only reduce plastic waste but protect ecosystems too! 

Caring for your straws

Your straws can be reused for up to 6 months or longer if care is maintained. Keep in a dry place. Clean after use with hot soapy water and coconut fibre brush, or in a dishwasher (switch off the hot and dry option to avoid cracking!). Leave to dry, vertically or at an angle to allow water to drain out. To store, wrap in paper and pack in pouch provided to preserve them.
