This is the SPECTATOR TIER for the workshop. You will NOT be receiving direct feedback from Orenji, but will be able to work along and watch the lesson! Please note that feedback tier students will have priority for Cintiq usage*.
Join us for a 3 hour intermediate workshop focusing on colour workflow for digital illustration with Orenji! Orenji is a professional illustrator and animation background artist (Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender), known for his vibrant colours and painterly style.
Learn how to take a simple value block-in to a fully coloured piece, receiving professional feedback on your work. Rather than creating a piece from scratch, you will work on an existing piece, to learn how to design colour, manipulate references, and render. Orenji will be teaching in Adobe Photoshop, but the skills will be applicable to all digital art software.
💡 WHAT TO BRING:
- Digital art device (iPad, laptop with drawing tablet, etc.) *
- 2-4 value greyscale block-in environment/scene illustration that you want to bring into colour (FLATS ONLY, NO GRADIENTS OR SOFT BRUSH) **
- Image references for your illustration
*If you are an RMIT Bachelors of Design (Animation and Interactive Media) student, you will be permitted to use the Cintiqs in the lab provided you bring a compatible Wacom pen.
**Instead of your own illustration, you may also work on a block-in prepared by Orenji.
