RMIT University’s High Velocity ('HIVE') is a multi-disciplinary, student-led team testing the boundaries of creativity and ingenuity in the field of rocketry.

In 2024 our team participated in the Australian University Rocket Competition (AURC) with a rocket known as Aurora V (‘Five’), earning the Technical Excellence award and placing 2nd in the overall competition.

This year we have our eyes set on the 2025 International Rocket Engineering Competition and 2025 Australian Universities Rocketry Competition as well as the development of new technologies to reach the Karman line, at the edge of outer space.

Our vision is to create an environment where young professionals across multiple disciplines can work together on real-world engineering projects. We want to promote a culture of inclusivity, excitement and innovation for the next generation of rocket technologists.
