The RMIT Basketball Club is a student-led organization open to university students and the wider community. It provides opportunities for players of all skill levels to play, train, and compete in various leagues and tournaments. Membership fees cover training costs like court hire, with additional fees for competitive play.

Beyond training and competitions, the club hosts 3v3 tournaments, skills challenges, and social events. Competitive players must commit to their teams, while casual members can participate freely. FAQs

Who can join the club, and how do I sign up?

All university students, regardless of skill level, are welcome. Non-students can also join, though fees may differ. To sign up, simply complete your membership payment, and you can start attending training sessions at Victoria University, Footscray.

What are the membership fees and additional costs?

A membership fee is required to cover court hire. Competitive players may have extra costs, including:

· Weekly scoresheet fees (~$80 per team)

· Basketball Victoria license ($46 annually)

· Uniform purchase ($100 one-time cost)

When and where are training sessions held?

Weekly training sessions are held Fridays, 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM at Building L, Victoria University Footscray Park Campus, combining drills and casual games.

Note: Training may be cancelled on public holidays or due to court reservations.

Does the club compete in tournaments, and how do tryouts work?

Yes, we compete in inter-university competitions, local leagues, and friendly matches. Tryouts are held at the start of each semester:

  • 📅 Men’s Tryouts: March 14 & March 28
  • 📅 Women’s Tryouts: March 21
  • ⏰ Time: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
  • 📍 Location: Victoria University Footscray, Building L
  • ✅ Walk-in tryouts—no prior registration needed.
