The RMIT Drama Club or ‘RedActs’ sets to create a community surrounding the performing arts. Whether you’re interested in acting, directing, dancing, designing, improv or working behind the scenes, we have something for everyone!!

Creative performance

Established in 2022, The RedActs aims to build a vibrant community of people passionate about all things performing arts, while providing opportunities for RMIT students and the wider community to develop their skills and deepen their love for the performing arts. There are a couple of ways for you to get involved with us and we hope something catches your eye!

Throughout the year, RMIT RedActs produces a diverse range of productions, from plays, student-written works and musicals. During the production season, callouts will be posted across our Instagram (@rmitredacts) and Discord for all who are interested to apply. No membership is required to audition or apply for backstage positions and we proudly welcome newcomers and theatre-makers of all experience levels!

Secondly, you can find us on Monday Nights in the Creative Space (08.02.03) where our student facilitators lead recurring sessions of Dance and Improv. These sessions are a relaxed, low-pressure way to build skills and get to know the RedActs community.

Lastly, you can join us for our awesome events and fundraisers. We host a multitude of events both independently and in collaboration with the University of Melbourne Student Theatre Groups, allowing the student theatre community to come together and bond in fun social settings. Come alone, or come with friends– we promise a good time!

What are the perks if of a RMIT Drama Club membership

Memberships expire at the end of the academic year and must be renewed annually.

A RMIT RedActs membership unlocks the following perks:
- Exclusive membership discounts to productions
- Access to the RedActs Messenger/Discord channel for additional opportunities and collaboration announcements
- Participation in the RedActs productions, either cast or production team
- Email newsletters for club announcements
