Training Requirements
Members will not be allowed to train until they meet the following requirements:
No-Gi:
✅ Rashguard or compression shirt (no cotton t-shirts).
✅ Fight shorts or athletic shorts with no pockets (to prevent injuries).
➡️ Spats/leggings are optional but strongly recommended for hygiene and mat safety.
Gi:
✅ Washed BJJ/Judo Gi only (unwashed Gi's harbour bacteria and odour).
❌ No street clothes or non-combat uniforms.
Hygiene:
🚫 No offensive odours:
- Please wash your gi, gear, and body thoroughly before class.
- Clean thoroughly after using the restroom – poor hygiene spreads infections.
- Use deodorant (please try to avoid heavy cologne/perfume).
Due to the nature of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, all members are asked to maintain high levels of personal hygiene.
✂️ Nails:
- Fingernails and toenails must be trimmed short and smooth – no exceptions.
- Long or jagged nails can cause cuts, scratches, or infections to yourself and others.
